Green UW's Newest School Color
All other universities should be green with envy, as University of Washington was named the greenest university in the U.S.
The environmental directory Greenopia announced their top 10 eco-schools after evaluating the country's top 100 largest universities' environmental impact and sustainability practices. UW certainly led the friendly carbon-footprint way, with not one but four (and counting) LEED certified buildings, a rockstar waste, recycling and composting program, aggressive water conservation, and the clincher: 300 alternative fuel vehicles.
But apparently UW wasn't green enough for the Sierra Club who ranked UW second in their annual list of Eco-Enlightened Universities.
