- The big news in local blogs today is the Seattle Times "collaboration" with hyperlocal blogstars such as West Seattle Blog, MyBallard, Capitol Hill Seattle, and Rainier Valley Post. Sure, there's warranted kicking and screaming about anything to do with the Times and online media, but is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship?
- Speaking of hyperlocal news, belltownpeople (giddy about being the densest neighborhood in Seattle) and CHS broke out mayoral race votes by 'hood.
- Sable Verity and Melissa Westbrook sat down and hashed out what's wrong (okay, it's just Part One) with the Seattle Public Schools.
- Smoking continues to be dangerous to your health whether you smoke or not: the SPD blotter reports an assault in the 2200 block of Thorndyke Avenue West. A man walked up to a car, asked for a cigarette, and on being told no, hit one of the passengers in the head with a pipe.
- Seattle Metblogs reminds you that when the Seattle public libraries close for next week, they mean CLOSED: no online catalog, no mail, no Information. We'll be watching the Seattlepi.com's SoundOff comments to see if no free internet access stymies the flood of crazy.
