So We Think We Can Dance

Oh, hello America's Best Dance Crew. We're pretty sure we've never watched an entire episode of this MTV "dance" show--that's in quotes because out of the hourlong show, total time devoted to dancing seems to be somewhere around the seven-minute mark. But this season, local breakdancers Massive Monkees are hoping to be the fourth-straight ABDC champions to hail from the West Coast, so we suppose we should say something about it.

The first episode of Season 4 was on this Sunday (full episode here), and the Monkees easily made it through the first round, handspringing and b-boying their way through the episode (starting at 1:25 in the video above). One dude flipped over the other dudes, one guy spun on his head, one guy popped and locked, we don't know. Shane Sparks said they "gave 100%" "from beginning to end" and made special reference to them doing a move called "the Monkey Bar." And then the sound went out on the YouTube so who knows what happened. (Of course we know what happened: JC Chasez said he liked that they blew a kiss to the judges, and Lil Mama said that they were on-point and set the tone for the second half of the show.) We look forward to next week's episode, in which Massive Monkees deploy both the Running Man and the Cabbage Patch.
