You Too Could Have a 220-Volt Car Charging Station!
Seattle has been named as one of the five cities across the U.S. that will be driving off with millions of dollars from the U.S. Department of Energy's $99 million federal grant. Now don't get too excited, the set funds will go towards 2,550 charging stations throughout the metro area for the fleet of electric cars expected next fall.
And thanks to the grant, if you hop on the deal Mayor Greg Nickels signed with Nissan and purchase the Leaf, their zero-emission, electric car, you'll get a free sexy new 220-volt charging station in your home. Ooh! Ahh!
See, sometimes it really does pay to be that eco-friendly, electric car driving type of city, especially when it involves with the government's largest electrification project in the history of transportation.
