PSYCHEDELIC INDIE POP: Starlight Mints are back at the Croc with a new album, Change Remains. Keyboardist Marian Love Nunez says, "Three appears to be the magic number for Starlight Mints, as far as years between album releases is concerned. Somehow, though, it seems just like yesterday we were begging for just a bit more time to wrap up Drowaton. I guess running a music venue, raising five children and working on multitudes of media projects, including writing ballads for pretty boy bands, will make time go a bit faster." So will meth, if we're making lists.

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN ON FILM: "Women Are Beautiful" is the name of the Alice Wheeler photography exhibit at the Greg Kucera Gallery, and we are not not at all in disagreement with the general tenor of that pronouncement, though this photo seems to push its limits. We can also recommend this photo from her upcoming "Blue Demons Are Sexy" exhibit.

SHARK WEEK: If you don't have A/C, then head down to the waterfront and let the Puget Sound breezes cool you. Then if you are curious about sharks, head into the Seattle Aquarium where they are celebrating Shark Week! with trivia, guest speakers, and "hands-on" activities. For legal reasons, we advise you to let the person next to you have the "hands-on" fun with any real sharks.
9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. // Seattle Aquarium, Pier 59 // Admission: $16 adults, $10.50 children 4-12
