Stock Up on Fans, Porches, and Mint Juleps
The good news is that UW weather guru Cliff Mass says we're not looking at a record-breaking temperature spike coming up--but the bad news is that it's still a pretty sharp spike to be poked with. (In the same post he's got reader pics of noctilucent clouds, which, in a movie, would be a signal for supernatural doings afoot. Go take look. Real pretty.)
The national weather service is predicting this weekend will be the hottest of the year so far, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s by Monday and lasting until around Wednesday. And as Cliff pointed out earlier this week, the last two months are some of the driest on record. As temps rise, the threat of fires dramatically increases. A lightning storm in Eastern Washington yesterday sparked dozens of fires around Spokane.
