Can't Miss It: Wednesday

PULL ON YOUR IVY LEAGUE BOOTS: Town Hall is hosting a informational evening with representatives from Yale, Brown, and MIT. In theory it's for high school students, but there's nothing that says you can't grab a teenager off the street and bluff your way in. Get your fill of news about the institutions, admission process, and financial aid, and get your higher learning on. By the time you finish, you should be just in time to be tapped for a gig with the second Obama administration.

HAIL A WATER TAXI: Hey, the weather is fantastic, you've got your sun and...well, that's all you really need. If you haven't been out to West Seattle in a while, head down to Pier 55 and sail away (for about 12 minutes). It's $6 roundtrip (less if you have a valid Metro transfer) and there are bicycles for rent on the other side. Have some fish 'n' chips, go beach-combing. Take a peek at Seattlest Jack's glorious pilgrimage for inspiration.

PARK IT FOR REGGAE: From noon to 1:30 p.m., enjoy the pure roots reggae and live dub of Clinton Fearon & The Boogie Brown Band. That's downtown in our urban rest stop, Westlake Park. It's part of the Summer in the City series, and their site even includes a list of to-go food options nearby. If you can't decide, probably your best one-stop lunch option is the Westlake Mall Food Court.
