As we write this, your Storm are taking on the San Antonio Silver Storm Stars, in a special matinee game. (Go Storm!) But if you're thinking, "Aw, hell, there goes my chance to watch professional sports tonight"...well, first of all, no need to curse. Do you talk to your mother with that mouth? Second of all, no, it's not your only chance. The Gods of Professional Sports Scheduling (Ballimus and Fanina) offer three further opportunities tonight along the I-5 corridor.
At 7 p.m., your Seattle Sounders FC take on the Kansas City Wizards in a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. No live TV for this one, so if you want to see the game as it happens, you'll need to make your way south. If you're a Patriot who believes that Ties Are UnAmerican, you'll like this game especially--it'll be decided by penalty kicks if there's a draw.
At 7:05 p.m., your Everett Aquasox host Yakima in Northwest League action. The Northwest League season started two weeks ago, and we've been meaning to write something substantial about it but have failed due to the nice weather. Apologies. Anyway, minor league games are fun, and it's Two for Tuesday--print out this coupon and you get two tickets for the price of one.
At 7:10 p.m., your Seattle Mariners host the Baltimore Orioles at Safeco Field. Yr. obt. crsp. will be at this one, which features the return of injured starting pitcher Erik Bedard. Adding to the amazing drama, he'll be facing his old team! We cannot overstate how important Bedard's return is to the M's pennant chances. If Bedard is back to his dominating self, the M's have a shot. If not, they probably don't. Games don't get much more portentous than this. It's also on FSN if you just like to watch.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

Um, do you mean San Antonio Silver Stars? ;-)
