Explosion 5000. This is who you're drinking for!

IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN: Today's the second day of A Drink for the Kids, the 7th annual Vera Project travelling fundraiser running through Saturday's show at Neumo's with Robin Pecknold and Throw Me the Statue. Show your support for the all-ages club by ordering a Stone IPA or the designated A Drink for the Kids cocktail at one of several bars around town. Tonight the venue is Ballard's Hazlewood, a bar we love so much that we wish we could just scoop it on up and move it to the Hill.

6-10 p.m. // Hazlewood // 2311 NW Market St // as much as you drink

LISTEN AND/OR PARTY: The Comet hosts a listening party tonight for The Dead Weather's first album, Horehound. The new band is Jack White's latest side project, also featuring Alison Mosshart of the Kills, Raconteur Jack Lawrence on bass, and former touring Raconteur/Queen of the Stone Age Dean Fertita on guitar. Listen to the album, pick up some Filter Mag swag, and see if you want check out the band live when they hit the Paramount come August. Added bonus: if you show up a little early (before 7 p.m.), you'll be there for the tail-end of the Comet's super-cheap happy hour, with $1 Rainier, $7 PBR pitchers, and $3.50 wells.

7 p.m. // The Comet // 922 E Pike St // free, 21+

VROOM VROOM: After drinking at the Hazlewood, head on over to Ballard's Live Girls! Theater for the last performance of the West Coast premiere of Vrooommm! A NAScomedy, a spoof of America's redneck-beloved "sport." Vrooommm! also marks the second show in Live Girls! 10th anniversary season, so go show 'em some theatre love.

8 p.m. // Live Girls! Theater // 2220 NW Market // $15
