Happye Canada Daye, Neighbours!

We know you're all celebrating your national holiday, so you won't mind us wishing you this so late in the day. We've always been enamored of you, considering we have family in Montreal and Toronto (the nice thing about Toronto is that it's so close to Canada! har har). And since moving here, we've enjoyed the fact that you're only two hours away...even closer than that impertinent Portland.

We love the fact that you resemble our country close enough to be familiar, yet have just enough subtle and nuanced differences to give a delicious sense of cognitive dissonance whenever we visit. (Try finding charming spelling or Darrell Lea Soft Eating liquorice at a convenience store here!) You're a lovely counterbalance to have on our shared continent. Cheers, neighbors!
