Our very own Senator Maria Cantwell has been declared the hottest senator on the Hill.

With over 40,000 votes, the Washington Democrat clinched the victory in HuffPo's selection of the "Sexiest Senator." Sen. Cantwell was just one of the six U.S. senators--voters snubbed party rivals Evan Bayh (R-IN), Kirsten Gillibrand (R-NY), and John Thune (R-SD)--in the running to be crowned as king or queen of prom the Sexiest Senator in all the land.

Here's HuffPo's thumbnail sexy bio:

Age: 50 Party: Democrat from Washington Romantic Status: Single Fun facts: One of Cantwell's first political missions was to build a new library in a Seattle suburb. She briefly left politics to work in television marketing and was responsible for streaming a live broadcast of a baseball game on the Internet in 1995, a big deal at the time.
