Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition June 12-14

SUMMER WINES TASTE SO FINE: South Seattle Community College's Northwest Wine Academy is celebrating the debut of the its newest prized 2008 vintages. During the school's Toast to Summer Wine Release Party, vino lovers of legal age can sample and purchase (in cases too!) the perfect summer pairings--created by the school's very own award-winning student winemakers--including an '08 Riesling, Rosé, Viognier, Barbera, and a new oaked Chardonnay.

3 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday & 12-4 p.m. Saturday // South Seattle Community College, Wine & Welding Building, 6000 16th Avenue SW // Free admission (21+), bottles of wine available for purchase

RUMMAGING THRU THE HILL: Need a lamp, mid-century danish chairs, old seltzer bottles, or a disco ball (you know you want one)? Check out one of the many garage sales going on for the 2nd Annual Capitol Hill Community Garage Sale Day. The neighborhood-wide garage sale is a beast. We're talking about sales on nearly every Capitol Hill street. If stoop shopping not your thing, you'll have a field day while sifting through the 35-plus sale tables at the Community Garage Sale HQ (corner of Pine & Belmont).

10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday // People's Parking Lot at the corner of Pine & Belmont // Free

SPCtitle.jpg PEACEFUL TUNES: Sunday marks the kickoff of the Seattle Peace Concert's Summer Park Concert Series. Expect a local mix of tunes from established musicians who defy labeling, as well as those who stick to the contemporary side of Rock, Pop, Reggae, Blues, Zydeco, Drum Groups, Folk, and World Beat. This Sunday's family-friendly park series encourages all to come. Here's the line up: Tangletown String Band, Don Glenn, Sourmash Stevedores, and many more. No tickets are needed, just bring a few cans to donate to the local food bank.

12 p.m.-6 p.m., Sunday // Woodland Park, Aurora Avenue N and N 59th St. // Free--family friendly (no booze allowed!)
