PETA Pulls Dead Kitten Card Against Famed Fishmongers
Intimidation is key, but surprisingly PETA has found that intimidation by kittens (live or dead) has so much more of an impact (sea kittens campaign, anyone?). Well, they're at it again. The animal activist group is stirring up a commotion surrounding the upcoming American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) convention, who scheduled a team-building presentation with the iconic fish throwers of the Pike Place Fish Market.
PETA isn't a fan of the fishmongers using real fish as "props." They'd prefer rubber fish instead. Now, a reasonable person might point out that the fish they use don't have feelings to be bruised, they're dead. But in the realm of sea kittens, reason is scarce.
While PETA impugns the moral fiber of fish throwing, the "World Famous" fishmongers continue to stand by their deep-rooted philosophies. Assistant manager Justin Hall said, "We respect fish. We respect seafood. This gives us our livelihood. We take pride in having the best."
Never without the last shocking word (cue the dead sea kitten card), a PETA spokesperson pronounced that, "Morally, there is no difference between throwing around dead kittens and throwing around dead fish." So there you have it: AVMA has opted out of the thrown fish presentation and PETA's rule of dead sea kitten terror continues unabated.
