So Is Skillet Shut Down or Open or What?
We would still eat a hamburger from this place. But we prefer the fried chicken sandwich. (Photo by us.)
Ah, Skillet. First we hear the county shut you down for health code violations, and you might not show up in Columbia City tomorrow. And the county sure makes it look that way. ("Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures"?)
Then people told us they'd seen you selling food not two hours after being "shut down" by The Man. Were you rebels? Were you crazy?
Then we hear that no, no, no, it was all a misunderstanding involving a substitute trailer and some bad luck. (And, we hope, Purell. "Handwashing facility not working"?)
Your word for now: "Open for biz as usual " [UPDATE, via Twitter: "we are open as usual...we self closed last week for a couple of hours..we will be at the M's game this eve from 5-7:30"]
We hope so, because we love you, but we hate when your Jordan-Catalano-esque attitude towards The System makes us switch lunch plans at the eleventh hour.
Though you've got some competition for our hamburger affection: We've finally been to Lunchbox Laboratory, and their burgers are exactly as awesome as their website is obnoxiously overproduced. Plus key lime shake. On the plus side, they're the first place we've been that makes your burger-and-poutine lunch seem light and healthy in comparison.
At any rate, until we hear different (again): Skillet is OPEN.
