SWEET H.S. HOOP ACTION: Seattle will host the ninth annual Quaker Summer Slam tournament, in what is sure to be a crazy intense and heated weekend of high school basketball rivalry. If you can withstand the elements of a gym, you'll witness 32 of Washington's top prep team, we're talking serious shooter and truly a college basketball recruiter's dream. Seattlest Seth says certainly keep an eye on these rising stars Garfield's Tony Wroten and Pierre Wright, Kentwood's Josh Smith, Seattle Prep's Mitch Brewe and Franklin guard Anrio Adams. If you can't make it (or don't do h.s. gyms in the summer), follow Seth; he'll be tweeting live from the games.

UK IMPORTS: Considered one of the UK's finest acts, Camera Obscura is a Scottish indie-pop band who offers what Billboard Magazine calls, " a flawless blend of sunny pop, Motown, blues and jazz with the cleanest production." They will be playing at the Showbox on Saturday with Agent Ribbons and The Lonely Forest. A show (if you can still score tickets) not to miss, we are talking true talent here folks.

GONE FISHIN' FOR FREE: The Fish and Wildlife Department is trying to reel in new anglers, by offering a free fishing pass for the weekend. That means no licenses are required--however, size limits and seasons still apply. Sorry kids, no crab fishing for you! Before you head out ready to hook 'em read-up on Fishing 101, then grab your can o' worms, tackle box, plus a cooler of tasty adult beverages and give fishing a go.
