It Takes a Light Rail of $2.3 Billion to Hold Us Back

Yesterday Sound Transit invited "news media" to take a preview of the 14-mile light rail trip to Tukwila and back--the last segment to the airport won't open until next January. We weren't invited, so we're poaching the Seattle Times video of the big moment. Slog got invited. Seattle Transit Blog, of course (15 minutes from Westlake to Columbia City, they report). We're not upset though, obviously space was limit--what? The guy who sketches got invited? What the shit, Sound Transit?! Was this Nickels' idea? God, we do everything we can to butter that guy up, and for what?

  • Silly squares. And I'm sure you would have tossed a melon into that convertible.

  • That video almost ruined my excitement.
