First Bears, Now Beavers Invade Ballard

From MyBallard comes a terrifying tale of strange new lifeforms on the back deck.

"What is this strange animal?" asks a Ballard resident. "This guy showed up on our deck tonight on Seaview Ave. At first I thought it was a big rat and then thought it might be a nutria, but when I checked out information on nutria, it sounds like they are a lot bigger and have tails."

The MyBallard comment section is voting "mountain beaver." "These animals appear to be physiologically limited to moist microenvironments," says Wikipedia, describing Ballard to a T. But don't worry--they appear to be strict vegetarians.

Many thanks to MyBallard for sharing the photo!
