Bill Gates Autographed Cowboy Boots Not Crashing Auction Software

gatesboots.jpg Our own Bill Gates signed a pair of cowboy boots for a silent auction Nebraska's Cattleman's Ball, an annual fundraiser for cancer research.

Unfortunately, not much cancer research will get done with the amount Bill's boots are going for at the moment: a measly $1.

Deanna Bosselman, organizer of the auction, got the boots in the mail in February. "I thought, ‘I’d better take care of these,’” she told The Grand Island Independent. She doesn't know who got Gates to sign them, though we may guess that famous Nebraskan and Gates' bridge partner Warren Buffett, who also donated a pair of boots to the event, may have had something to do with it.

Other celebrity-signed boots at auction include pairs inscribed by: Warren Buffett, Larry the Cable Guy, Kevin Costner, John Stamos, and Dolly Parton.

And though Gates' boots are only drawing a one-simoleon bid, he can take some consolation in this fact: Larry the Cable Guy's are only going for 50 cents. Ouch.

C'mon, you Microsofties--don't let your founder's boots go out like this. It's all for a good cause. Bid here.
