- If the Hood Canal bridge doesn't botch its mandatory twenty perfect test openings in a row, then it's looking like the bridge could open in a few days, bringing an early close to the $500 million project.
- The CHS blog reports that Seattle's Central Little League sluggers certainly deserve a post-game ice cream, after getting some much deserved props in the New York Times sports pages.
- Blame it on the Chinook salmon for why the Ballard Locks were closed down today (and maybe tomorrow?). Officials were inspecting the year old Adult Salmon Exclusion Structure, which stops the salmon from getting entangled into the locks' water system.
- All 55 Bartell Drug store locations (19 in Seattle) kick off their "Stock the Pantry" Food Drive today. Now through June 14, they are accepting nonperishable food donations to go towards helping feeding kiddos on summer break and their families.
- We like ice cream, but we love frozen custard. This Saturday, Old School Frozen Custard celebrates the opening of their new Capitol Hill store with free single-scoop cones for everyone from 3 to 10 p.m.
