CRAWLING ZOMBIES : It's going to be a cryptic brain-eating kind of Friday night in Capitol Hill, as an army of zombies plans to take over the neighborhood for the Crypticon Zombie Crawl. The costumes of the gruesome group of undead are sure to turn (or spin) a few heads. The local zombie dwellers plan to gather in front of Metro Clothing Co. dressed to kill (for brains), as well as tickets to Crypticon's horror convention. If you encounter a zombie, head to high altitudes or a bar, we've heard that alcohol preserves rotting flesh.
5 p.m., Friday // Meet at Metro Clothing Co., 231 Broadway E // Dress to kill and pay as you go
DOUG DOES SEATTLE: In a rare appearance, Boise-based indie rock band Built to Spill has left Idaho (gasp!) for the weekend to play a few songs in Seattle. On Friday from 3-7 p.m., Built to Spill will be playing a free concert at UW with Ra Ra Riot and Smile Brigade. Then on Saturday, the sexy vegetarian and one helluva great frontman Doug Martsch will DJ and spin some of his favorite songs at a chill event at Solo Bar in Lower Queen Anne.
9 p.m., Saturday // Solo Bar, 200 Roy St. // Free, pay as you go
SUNDAY SCHOOL: If you worship the summer sun and music gods, then perhaps attending Nectar's weekly Sunday School session might be the best bet to vanquish your stress-producing demons. The free all-day boogie and lounge fest is open not to the first-come but only to folks who RSVP. Seattle's DJ Sosa will be throwing down some old skool tunes and anything else that screams summer.
2-8:30 p.m., Sunday // Nectar, 412 N 36th Street // Free, need to RSVP
