- Seattle loves music, recession or not. Music venues big and small are reporting concert ticket sales holding steady, even selling out, despite the financial slump. We just can't say no to traditions, good music, and outdoor summer concerts.
- Another small plane dropped out of the sky on Monday. This time it wasn't an epic crash landing into port-a-potties--after losing power a pilot was able to safely land the plane onto the playfield at Genesee Park, near the shore of Lake Washington.
- Adding to our long list of "Seattle is awesome because..." accolades, Seattle was named the sixth-fittest "big" city in America by the American College of Sports Medicine.
- Ballard's little ol' house once owned by Edith Macefield tried to make a quick balloon getaway this morning (thanks to Disney's PR team for the movie Up), until all the balloons started to pop.
- This past weekend's Northwest Folklife Festival was considered a successful return to form, since this year was free of shootings and guns.
