Holiday Weekend News Round-Up
- Low tides over in West Seattle brought in odd little creatures of the sea.
- Man, those little suburb islands are making a lot of ruckus lately. First it was Bainbridge and their brothels. Now it's Vashon Island who needs a little rehab, as the use of heroin is on the rise.
- Glad we stuck to our decision not to go to Sasquatch this year. The music good, the rest of the experience sounded like absolute hell.
- Close call for a 25-year-old guy who nearly drowned in Silver Lake yesterday--divers found him 22 minutes after they first got the call.
- With only 53 days left till the Link Light Rail is in action, Sound Transit created a new beauuutiful regional transit map.
- A series of bad luck for an 18-year-old boy, who thought it was a good idea to pick up a snake at Palouse Falls State Park in southeast Washington. The story continues: boy picks up snake; the snake was a rattlesnake (yikes!); snake obviously bites stupid boy; the car taking the boy to the hospital breaks down (karma?) en route; calls were then made for the ambulance.
- Biofuel fail. The state won't be making its goal to have biofuels make up at least 20 percent of its fuel use in state vehicles and ferries. Again, biofuel FAIL.
