swear to god, I sat next to this guy on a bus once, a few years back, and he told me half his life story and how he was going to go to the fancy dinner for the Pike Market's 100th birthday.
Kind of distinctive, the dapper elderly gentleman in white suit with straw hat...
when i worked on the ave back in '03 i got to meet this guy numerous times, as the u-district is his home...he goes by 'the general' and while i don't think he ever achieved that rank, i remember other folks who had known him longer said he had indeed been in the military at one point or another.
he's ALWAYS dressed up like that (certain days he'd wear his military hat and/or pins) and i have NEVER seen/smelled him drunk before.
