Get Out Tuesday: Moderat @ Neumos

Moderat is a collaboration between Modeselektor and Apparat, two electronic acts that are no slouches on their own. Together they're greater than the sum of their parts, and Moderat's long-awaited debut album (titled Moderat) is one of the most listenable electronic albums to come out so far this year. "Listenable" might not seem like high praise, but it's not often that you get an electronic album that works as a full piece, and not as just a collection of singles. It captures the styles of both acts and blends them into something new and more interesting. The album's well worth your money. Even more worth your money is their live appearance on Tuesday. Modeselektor's Seattle appearances are always fun parties, and the trio is bringing along visual artist Pfadfinderei, so it'll be fun for your eyes as well as your ears. (With Truckasauras and Nordic Soul. Visuals by Pfadfinderei and Tracer Visuals.) Thanks go out to Decibel for making this show happen (Moderat aren't playing many dates stateside).

Tuesday, May 19 // 8 p.m. doors // Neumos, 925 East Pike Street // $15 in advance, 21+
