Can't Miss It: Monday

EAT IT UP: The annual Urban Eats is your chance to hit up any of 49 participating restaurants serving three-course dinners for thirty bucks. Take the opportunity to try a new restaurant and expand your taste buds, or stop by an old favorite at a good price--Brasa and Maximilien are on the list too.

Sunday-Thursday nights through 5/31 // Various restaurants // $30

LAND OF THE LOST: Everyone knows when Columbus "discovered" America and when the English settlers started to show up on the East Coast, but it's that time in between that's just a little fuzzy. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Tony Horwitz covers this century of missing New World history in his new book A Voyage Long and Strange. Vikings and conquistadors and syphilis, oh my!

7:30 p.m. // Town Hall // 1119 8th Ave. // $5

A DISH BEST SERVED COLD: Academy Award nominee Revanche is in its last few days at SIFF Cinema. Austrian director Götz Spielmann has crafted a taut yet meditative film about a star-crossed big city couple, their small-town bank heist, and the complicated aftermath. The less said about the story the better (e.g., don't watch the trailer), but suffice it to say Hollywood doesn't make films like this: the characters are imperfect, the action moves along at a contemplative pace, and the script eschews the need for extraneous subplots. Revanche shows through Wednesday.

7:30 p.m. // SIFF Cinema // 321 Mercer St. // $10
