Tonight while Rush Limbaugh is busy writing cancer jokes, Northwest sports fans will be sitting in front of a television watching two of the regions most exciting players.
Half an hour after the Mariners afternoon game vs. the White Sox, Felix Hernandez will take the mound in game two of the doubleheader. Whenever Felix pitches two things are certain: at some point the entire training staff will have to visit the mound causing us to hyperventilate, and secondly, we will get hypnotized by his pitching and lose track of what’s happening in the actual game.
Around 7 p.m. Brandon Roy will lead the Blazers against the Rockets in Game Five of their series. Houston is one win away from the Lakers, which means they must win tonight, Thursday, and then Saturday.
Before this series we wondered if we would get emotionally involved with our adopted NBA team. Following Sunday’s close loss in Houston we felt bummed out--however, had the Sonics lost a game like Sunday’s we would have been screaming at our pillow long into the night.
We did feel nervous throughout the fourth quarter and screamed a whole bunch of words that probably didn’t endear us to our new neighbors. We can feel the Blazer love growing inside us, along with it the guilt of staying loyal to a David Stern’s product. Alas.
Go Blazers, and we hope Stern’s son spent spring break in Mexico eating pig.

Live-blogging soccer? Welcome to my hellscape.
Thanks, Seth. I tried to find out if at least some local station would be down there broadcasting, but no such luck. Good to know that fucking Utah sent somebody.
