GLUTEN FREEDOM: Dr. Stephen Wangen, founder of the IBS Treatment Center, has a new book out called Healthier Without Wheat: A New Understanding of Wheat Allergies, Celiac Disease, and Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance. As you can tell from the title, his contention is that you don't have to have celiac disease to be gluten intolerant. Personally, we are disturbed by intolerance of any kind, so we are glad to hear that he's working on a cure--what? Just don't eat wheat?

KITTEHS!: CATS opens tonight at the Paramount. We're not sure which touring life the show is on, seems like they're way past nine. But we predict crowds for its short, leg-warmered Seattle stay. We even interviewed a cat for you--and he did not respond at all to the Whiskas we threw at him when he answered a question well. Cats. You can't tell what they'll do.
7:30 p.m. // Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine Street // Tickets: $23-$63
DANCING TARTS: The Tempting Tarts burlesque troop are performing two shows at the Rendezvous Jewelbox theater. Expect sequined glitz, high-heeled glamor and various acts from SheFreaka, proprietor of Seattle's rocker/rockabilly salon Helmet Head, Kitty Baby, Emerald Dollies, Red Rocket and Black Cherry. The line-up features several troop members of the Pin-Up Angels, expected to perform for Armed Forces Day at the Playboy Mansion, including Miss Kitty Baby. Name sound familiar? Probably. She only won second place in the Viva Las Vegas Competition, aka the burlesque Olympics.
7 p.m., 8:30 p.m. // Rendezvous Jewelbox Theater, 2210 2nd Avenue // Tickets: $10
