Clearly, unemployment is the new black these days, as Washington's unemployment rate crept up to 9.2 percent in March. The nearly one-percent increase from February came from the 20,000 jobs lost and lack of growth in the state's major industries, making this the first time Washington surpassed the 8.5 national unemployment rate.
