The Salt, the Sea, and Seattle
We've got a thing about sea, salt, and sea salt in Seattle.
Fran's sea salt caramels are so popular that even the Obamas are apparently addicted to them. (Michelle favors the dark chocolate, while Barack prefers milk.)
But the big buzz seems to be in Wallingford.
Joule has nori butter that's simply divine. We even like it better than the bacon butter--and we rarely like anything better than bacon!
While Molly Moon's has had salted caramel ice cream since the start, word is they're unveiling a new flavor today: salted black licorice. This Seattlest confesses to have never visited the Molly Moon shop (we've had the ice cream at special events), but salted black licorice just might bring an end to that blunder. (And while we're at it, we should also note that just as Rancho Bravo has branched out from Wallingford to Capitol Hill, Molly Moon's will be doing the same, opening in the OddFellows Building at the end of the month.)
