Can't Miss It: Wednesday

CHOCOLATE ACADEMY: We're not sure if these credits transfer, but tonight is Theo Chocolate's CHOC 102 seminar--"Sinful and Good for You?" taught by instructor Dr. Andy McShea, Theo Chief Operating Officer and Head Scientist. He'll examine recent claims about chocolate’s antioxidant health benefits, while giving guidelines for healthy chocolate consumption. You'll see a vivid scientific demonstration of the chemical oxidation process and enjoy a tasting of foods high in antioxidants. To register call 206-632-5100 and dial option 2 to speak with a Theonista, or email info(at)theochocolate.com with the subject line "CHOCOLATE ACADEMY."

6:30-8:30 p.m. // Theo Chocolate, 3400 Phinney Avenue North // $30

ART GALLERY: We insist that someone go see an exhibit called The Descent of SockMonkey, even though it's all the way over in West Seattle, at the ArtsWest Gallery. The light-hearted exhibit features paintings by minister-turned-artist Marty Gordon (that's his "Giant Jesus vs. San Francisco"), surrealist Robin Harlow, and SockMonkey-provocateur Terence Healy. Don't let us down. Hey, don't let yourselves down.

noon-7 p.m. // ArtsWest Gallery, 4711 California Avenue Southwest // FREE

PURE GOLD HITS: Rock demigod JJ Cale--you may remember him from writing such songs as “After Midnight” and “Cocaine"--is at the Triple Door, touring for his new album Roll On (his solo follow up to his Grammy-winning, gold-certified 2006 album with Eric Clapton, The Road to Escondido). Plus, a portion of the ticket proceeds go to benefit the Seattle Humane Society. That's so nice.

7:30 p.m. // Triple Door, 216 Union Street // Tickets: $38-$45

I wish I could attend the Chocolate Academy. I am sure it will be very interesting.

I am very familiar with the health benefits of chocolate. It is true that certain types of chocolate can be beneficial to the health. Not all chocolate is created equal and Healthy Chocolate cannot be purchased in the local health food store because the cocoa in the chocolate is still processed.

I found a chocolate that truly is healthy and I have seen it do great things for people that I share it with.

If you are interested check it out at

This website also educates people on the health benefits of dark chocolate.

    Enjoy!
