Recent trend that we're not fond of: Nearby restaurants calling the cops on Skillet, the silver-clad rolling kitchen that serves the food of the gods. First 13 Coins forced them to move their Wednesday South Lake Union spot. More recently, managers at the Elliott West Cafe uprooted them from their Friday Elliott Ave location. (That latter one especially hurts, as they used to be a 20-foot walk for us.) Legalities, schmegalities: It's totally bogus to involve the SPD in petty business disputes. 13 Coins and Elliott West? No more of our lunch money for you. Even if you start serving poutine. UPDATE: Now we've heard that it was the building management that called about Skillet (and the hapless hot dog cart that was there for a couple of Wednesdays). Regardless, the Elliott West Cafe staff are all very nice and are not the ones to blame. Unsurprisingly, however, some manager in this chain is being annoying and petty.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

Seconded.
Thirded.
Why would they do that? The restaurants in question are all "meh" and for the price I at least expect a "mmmm-meh"
Clearly, Bacon Jam is kryptonite for those standing restaurants.
BREAKING: Apparently it was actually the owners of the Clear Channel / F5 buildings who tattled on Skillet, not the Elliott West Cafe. Apparently they didn't like the stupid little cul-de-sac getting all gummed up with people.
Agh! I've heard three versions of who called about the F5 location -- Elliott West, the Elliott West management, and now the building owners. I'll update the post to note this development.
@6: And this is why it's only responsible to get at least a few facts before posting these drive-by attack items. Way too much of this goes on at Seattlest.
i won't eat at skillet because they are homophobic. the guys who own it aren't professional enough to keep their voices down when serving people.
Speaking of "drive-by attack items"...
meg22 - i'm still waiting for your reply...i want to know what is homophobic about the folks @ skillet...exactly, as i'll bring it up to them directly if i know what's happened/been said....but without any evidence (i'll even take hearsay) i'm going to still take my dykey self there for some damn fine street food!
meg--can you be a bit more specific??? if merited i would stop going to them based on that, but i haven't ever experienced anything like homophobia when i've patronized them as of yet...
Wow, I had no idea this was going on! You'd think that knowing its position in each respective place was finite would chill them out--I think it's pretty awful regardless of who is making the calls!
I'd eat anywhere that served really good Poutine... Aw man, I lived above a La Belle Provinceā at Atwater & Notre-Dame Oues in Montreal... It was not the best poutine, yet was always our food of choice after a drunken night...
Wait, was this article about lack of poutine in Seattle?
