Pioneer Square Florist Wants to Put Spring in Your Step
Pioneer Square's Megan Mary Olander Florist wants to turn your recession frown upside down.
As Pike Market farmers colored the gloomy streets with gratis daffodils to mark the seasonal change on March 20, the First Avenue flower shop boosted the morale of passersby in a very Seattle way: with a sheet of printed instructions.
Taped onto their door is this little white sign which encourages Seattleites to--among many other things--take a picnic, make eye contact, or just stop and smell the flowers.
As our wintry doom and gloom slowly (slowly!) dissipates, the cheery reminder is much needed.
Instead of watching your nightly installment of the news, opt for a few articles during the day and relish the brighter evenings with a stroll through your hood.
While this fancy flower shop may not normally draw you in, this lovely little sign is an excuse to stumble by and get your springtime fix--particularly if you missed your bundle o' daffodils.
