Piecora's Puppynapping Tale Has Happy Ending

Payton the Schnoodle, in naively happier days
Over the weekend we--and seemingly every other news person in the city--got a note about a stolen Schnoodle (Schnauzer-Poodle mix) that made us question humanity itself:

Last night just before 8pm, our 10 mth old puppy Payton (named after former Sonic Gary Payton) was stolen from our car parked in the Piecora's parking lot. The burglars literally threw a concrete block through the front passenger side window and just took him.

Seattle police came by and decided, with security footage of the dognappers in hand, to treat the case as a theft of personal property (i.e., Schnoodle=Blaupunkt), so the owners were on their own.

They didn't take it lying down though; they went to the local blogs with the story, and KOMO picked it up from there. West Seattle Blog has...the rest of the story. The thieves may have decided the dog was too hot to sell, and dropped it at an intersection in Federal Way: "2 ladies on their way to church saw him and picked him up. They posted some ads around Federal Way but saw the clip on KOMO and called it in."
