Apple: Not Too Hip To Fail

Tech Flash got curious about Microsoft's new budget-conscious laptop shopper ad and did a specs comparison with a Mac, but they didn't cover one area that people will pay lots of money for, which is quality and customer service.

If you can buy a Mac or other Apple product and it never breaks down, it might be worth the extra money. But what we keep hearing from long-time Apple fans is that QA has slid dramatically the past few years. Not only are there more "lemons" shipping, but things just don't last like they used to.

And yes, we bring this up because our iPhone lost its mind again yesterday and demanded to be restored, but wouldn't restore because it claimed a non-missing SIM card was missing, and we had to visit the U Village Genius Bar. The first time this happened, they just handed us a new iPhone to replace our still-shiny, 4-month-old version. This time, the guy reinstalled the software, then handed it back to us, but without explaining why the phone keeps doing this.

He did, however, teach us how to wipe the phone ourselves, you know, "if it happens again."
