Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition, March 20-22

MY AVATAR: We're very fond of the internet and of books, and knowing you, you're fond of those things too. The Richard Hugo House's Literary Series comes to a close with an event tonight called My Avatar, featuring writers who explore identity, technology, and this beautiful wired world in which we live. The Maldives are playing, too, in case you missed them last weekend.

7:30 p.m., Friday // Town Hall // $15-$20

MY CIRCUS: Tonight is also another installment of Circus Contraption's very last show run ever, and it's quite the spectacular spectacular--if you haven't seen them yet, get yourself to Theo Chocolate tonight and thrill to their particular brand of entertainment for the first time. We give them kudos for picking such an interesting venue for their last show, and we're now craving corsets, acrobatics, and chocolate. This runs through May 31, but don't wait that long.

8 p.m., Friday // Theo Chocolate // $20-$25

MY SONGSTRESS: Alt-country singer/songwriter Eleni Mandell, whom Seattlest Kim describes as "awesome" and "gorgeous," will descend upon the Triple Door this weekend. The L.A. artist just released another album, Artificial Fire; Paste Magazine's review here calls her a "hipster and Tom Waits acolyte" and says she "may be the best songwriter on discordant desire and heartache since Joni Mitchell." Well! That sounds perfect for a Sunday night in spring.

7:30 p.m., Sunday // Triple Door // $14adv
