No Green Beer, But Great Grub at Mulleady's

mulleadys irish stew 300.jpg As with Valentine's Day, the Seattlest in-box gets flooded with emails announcing St. Patrick's Day restaurant promotions.

We've decided to recommend an Irish pub that won't be pouring green beer.

Over in Magnolia, Mulleady's serves up elevated Irish food and more. Think gastropub, if you will. We love the regular menu, especially the pork belly with apricot-cabbage tart, but for today's celebration, there's a more limited menu:

  • Oyster tart w/ spinach, caramelized onions, kumquats & whiskey remoulade
  • Mini steak & Guinness pies
  • Peat-smoke salmon wraps with spinach, corn & caper relish and a cider-whiskey mustard
  • Irish frites
  • Lamb sloppy Joe sliders with Cashel blue cheese aioli
  • Barley, apple, & root vegetable salad wraps with Dubliner cheese, clover sprouts & herb aioli

And, of course:

  • Irish stew with soda bread
  • Corned beef & cabbage

And here's the fun musical line-up:

  • Erin McNamee (12-4)
  • Seattle F.D. Pipes & Drums (4-5)
  • Trenchmouth (5:30-9)
  • Whiskey Galore (9:30-late)

Mulleady's is my home away from home. Wait. Does that make me sound like a lush?

Been goin' to this pub for years, and though a lot has changed, they're still my favorite place to drink in Seattle. Great atmosphere, great staff, excellent food, fantastic vibe.

Crowded on St. Patrick's Day. Go early!
