Everything's Changing

"Sleeping Giant - Mount Rainier" by Scovophoto.

The first nine entries in SeattlePI.com's local news section are very sad odes to the P-I's past. They're worth a read, even if you aren't running to pick up the last, commemorative edition of the paper itself. God knows we loved linking to the P-I, tried not to link to the Times when possible; we're crossing our fingers and holding our breath in hopes that the online-only site will have just as wonderful local news coverage.

We had this moment last night where we realized every website we had just clicked to on our evening insomniac rounds had some sort of major update (save Seattlest, which remains eternal), and despite assurances from various friends on Twitter to Not Panic, we kind of did. The Sonics, WaMu, and now the P-I? What's next, the Space Needle? Dick's?! We're not entirely on board with all this constant change just yet. Maybe that makes us old, or just a failure at Zen. God. We need to go stare at Mt. Rainier. Who's with us?

Do not even TALK about Dick's closing. YOU MIGHT AS WELL CHOP DOWN THE SPACE NEEDLE!
