The Weather Is Behaving Unpredictably, Please Bear With Us

It's snowing like hell near Microsoft, Wedgwood has sun and blue skies, Capitol Hill has sunbreaks and winds, and Shoreline was getting pelted by snow pellets. Of course, that was five minutes ago, so by now the opposite could be true in every case. We keep looking out the window and thinking it's either late December or April. But that's March for you. Meanwhile Metro's list of impacted buses is growing.

The bizarre weather here is one of the very things that endears the place to me. While some find it a nuisance and care to only complain when it doesn't go their way, I say how many other places have such strange occurrences? It's no wonder that UW has one of the best meteorology programs in the country.

I love it and smile when I see it snowing, simply because it IS so abnormal (until recently, anyway).

My absolute favorite, though, is the rain shadow hole over Sequim. Visible from space!

You can't change the weather, so whining about it will do nothing but bring down your temperament and the temperament of those of us who have to put up with you.

:-)

Don't know where your Wedgwood report came from - it was quite a snowstorm up 75th Ave NE about an hour ago.

I have to admit, I missed out on Snowpocalypse this past year thanks to traveling. But I also have to admit that I would've been laughing that a relatively mild bout with mother nature was capable of causing so much turmoil to our routines and moods.

I find it hilarious that a couple people set up a Yelp! business for snow and their embittered reviews of it. Haha, seriously??

Okay, there was some seriousness. It was dangerous in places. And our city is completely incapable of dealing with it. But overall, it was not that catastrophic.

Again, can't change it, so roll with the punches and smile about it all! That's what I say, anyway.

But if you're in City Hall...maybe you should take it a bit more seriously. People's moods and routines are at stake!

Well put, Marcel. I just stepped outside to get some coffee and clutching my hot beverage as I walked outside in the wind just felt right.

My only issue is waiting for buses in the cold weather. While yes, it won't change the weather by complaining, it does heat me up :)

Wow. That Yelp is from 2006!

Yeah, I realized that too after posting. I guess people got annoyed back in those days, too. Haha.
