Needless to say, I think Peter Steinbrueck is the one to lead us!! Please run. We can't survive another four years of an autocratic, bullying mayor that focuses only on self-aggrandizement and plain old stupid stuff!

Just a little example. The current Mayor huffed and puffed that he would not consider replacing sewers. What is running a city about? Maybe, we don't build all new sewers, maybe we actually deal with WATER MANAGEMENT, but dismissing things that are clearly part of the job description....

1. Work cooperatively and effectively with organizations that deal with the homeless in this city to find real viable solutions, instead of against them at every turn. Mayor Nickel's policies which have resulted in the sweeps of homeless encampments has been one of the most immoral acts I have ever seen in government. His administrations refusal to work with organizations trying to find better ways has been a black scar on this city's humanity.

2. Work to close loopholes in laws designed to insure developers replace low income housing that they have reduced by their developments.

3. Stop the new jail, period. It is unnecessary, and far too expensive to build, especially now. Far better and cheaper alternatives to incarceration have proven to be more successful at reducing recidivism rates. These solutions need to be implemented and expanded.

It is ludicrous to be making decisions to cut spending in education and then make decisions to borrow money to build a jail to house the inevitable results that occur when education is cut.

Mr. Steinbrueck, you are the only viable candidate with the experience, knowledge, character and personality that can stop the direction Seattle has gone since Mayor Nickels has taken office. We need Seattle to be more human, and you are the man that can make that happen.

PLEASE RUN FOR MAYOR!

Hi:

I want an open and transparent government, more support for neighborhood democratic processes, and a vision of Seattle within the region that is more fitting.

I also want a competent city government where the Mayor and City Council work together to solve problems and engage the people of the city to make it happen.

Is that four thing? Sorry!
