Oh, snap! According to...well, the P-I...the P-I could be going online-only--a lucky few on staff have even received new "provisional" job offers.

One reporter, Hector Castro, somehow escaped promising to be hush-hush about the details of his offer:

He said the offer increased his health insurance cost, cut his salary by an unspecified amount, matched his 401(k), required him to forgo his P-I severance pay, reduced his vacation accrual to zero and required him to give up overtime.

Yikes. Times, they are a-changing indeed. Castro turned down the offer, he said. Without further ado, the list of reporters who said "no comment" when asked if they had received job offers:

Brian Chin, senior online producer; Joel Connelly, columnist; Jake Ellison, online producer; Monica Guzman, online reporter; Candace Heckman, assigning editor; Andrea James, business reporter; Sarah Rupp, online producer; Don Smith, interactivity editor; Scott Sunde, assigning editor; Joe Tartakoff, business reporter; and Mike Thompson, Web developer
Our best wishes to the entire staff. We'll drink to your future tonight, as, we predict, will you.
