Sasquatch 2009 Lineup Announced

sasquatch09.jpg

The official lineup for this year's Sasquatch (May 23-25) was announced today, and it's a doozy. The big names: Jane's Addiction (as the requisite reunion band), Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails (who will soon be taking a sabbatical), Ben Harper (yes, again), Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Erykah Badu, The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes (natch), TV On The Radio (who will assuredly be much better at Sasquatch than their SNL appearance), Animal Collective, Santogold, Of Montreal, Explosions In The Sky, M. Ward, The Avett Brothers, Doves, Grizzly Bear, M83, and Girl Talk.

There are of course many local bands represented at the three-day fest, including Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, The Dutchess & The Duke, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, The Pica Beats, and Vince Mira.

And don't forget about the comedy stage! So far this year, the comedy lineup includes Zach Galifiankas, Demetri Martin, Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job, Todd Barry, Jon Benjamin, God's Pottery, and the People's Republic of Komedy.

The website is still "coming soon," but tickets go on sale February 28th at 10 a.m., when you can get them on the (relative) cheap: a three-day pass goes for $154.50 and single-day tickets go for $56.50 through Sunday, March 1st at midnight.

Hmm... I did all three days last year, and though it was a hazy blast, I think I'm just going one day this year (Sunday, for sure).

Wow! That's an impressive lineup. Especially Jane's Addiction. Too bad my hours got cut and I can't afford tickets! There should be an assistance program for people in dire need of live music who can't afford it. Ha!

Both Coachella and Bonnaroo instituted payment plans this year, but it doesn't sound as if Sasquatch will do the same.
