Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition, Jan. 30-Feb. 1
STRONG, WILY OL'D MAN: My! Oldominion, a legendary and superdope Northwest hiphop collective boasting members who happen to be some of our area's strongest and most creative artists, certainly has aged well. The group turns ten years old this year, and to celebrate, they're throwing a family reunion/party/show combo at Neumos this weekend. On the bill: The Saturday Knights, Grayskul, and assorted extremely important members of the crew. We're just saying, Oldominion knows how to party.
8 p.m., Saturday // Neumos // $10adv // 21+
SOUL-POWERED DAPS: Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings are playing the Showbox this weekend. If you haven't rocked out to 100 Days, 100 Nights yet, you're missing out on a classic and lovable "new soul"/funk album so warm and crackly it's sure to become your new favorite. Listen on Imeem if you're among the many who aren't lucky enough to have tickets to Saturday's show, and if you do have tickets--Seattlest is green with envy!
8 p.m., Saturday // Showbox at the Market // SOLD OUT
FOOTBALL IS SUPER: No better time to pig out on corn dogs, seven-layer dip, and your favorite antacid than this Superbowl Sunday, which--if you haven't heard yet--is a holiday celebrated with great gusto here in the United States. Watch the Cardinals slay the Steelers (in our dreams) on tv and take the day to reflect on how many nacho cheese Doritos you can cram into your mouth during Bruce Springsteen's halftime show.
3 p.m., Sunday // TV // Cost of Seven-Layer Dip and corn dogs
