Get Your Sun On, Today Only

NightSnowing.jpg Last night--see Exhibit A, to the right--we walked home in a snow flurry. This morning it's 25 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow, says Cliff Mass, it's back to a rainy gray: "Temps will warm rapidly as the associated front approaches and there should be considerable rain shadowing from Seattle northward. So it is possible that some locations will initially see some snow (particularly south Tacoma) that will turn to rain."

What this means, according to Seattlest's Guide to Winter Survival, is that you should do whatever it takes to get at least a half an hour of sun in today, preferably during the noonish hour for maximum effect. Take a walk to the closest park--or a walk to a distant Starbucks--or find an outdoor patio for lunch that has a few of those propane heaters standing around. Seems like Bluwater Bistro on Lake Union used to have them. And 22 Doors does. Don't let the cold put you off. It's warmed up five degrees already, to 29! By noon, who knows. But by nightfall, that's probably all the sun you're gonna get all week.
