Stalk Of The Town
Kim is shooting from the hip this weekend (papow!). The only solid plan is her friend's weekly L Word watching party on Sunday. Between now and then, she'll probably go see Shenandoah Davis at 2020 Cycle with Your Heart Breaks and KHV. Maybe there'll be a delicious meal culled from our local farmers markets. Maybe she'll hop on a train and go to Portland. Anything could happen, people. Anything.
Abbey will be saying a tearful goodbye to another one of her favorite Seattle bands who are calling it quits. Tonight she'll try not to blubber between the punk-pop at The High Dive for Ms. Led's final show. After five nights of concerts in a row this week, the rest of her weekend is going to be all about relaxing and catching up on sleep and household chores.
Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder, they say. Ronald will put that notion to the test Sunday afternoon at a forum sponsored by the Washington State Bartenders Guild. He also hopes to check out Erica Bauermeister's reading from "The School of Essential Ingredients" at Elliott Bay Saturday afternoon.
MvB is running behind and still hasn't seen Frost/Nixon, though he did finally make it to Marat/Sade at Balagan. Sunday he has eyes on Cha Cha's noon-close happy hour and those addictive $3.50 margaritas.
Jack has a couch date with the missus tonight, including WALL-E and a bottle of Firesteed Pinot Noir. Tomorrow he'll be installing new door knobs throughout the house (you ever just suddenly realize your door knobs are ugly as sin?) before heading out to his company's holiday party at The Garage. Sunday, he may venture out to see a movie, but either way he is certain to make beer bread. More on that to come.
Aside from a lesson on using his new Lumix LX3 camera, Jay is looking forward to weekend meals at Lark and Six Seven, will try out a coconut rice with edamame and sweet potatoes recipe in between.
Katelyn just joyfully and tearfully finished up her last day at her desk job, so she'll be celebrating with coconut curry at Cedars and then chillin' like an unemployed villain at Neumos for a Bring Back The Sonics show with some of her favorite people. Sunday, she'll be spending the evening at the Canterbury with jalapeno poppers and more fab friends.
The thought of laying low to nurse a generally run-down body and liver did cross Maia's mind as a fine weekend plan, however the drinkin' shoes must be fastened again tonight for Seattle Anti-Freeze's Black Party at the Columbia Tower Club. Sunday might see her face at a brunch, somewhere.
