So we're cruising Craigslist, as is our wont, and there this ad for a reporter for the Seattle Courant? UW journalism grad Keith Vance "quietly"--perhaps too quietly?--launched the site sometime the past few weeks. Vance writes a bunch of stories about Obama and offers links to the P-I, which will likely be broken in another 55 or so days. But the recipe for potato cheddar chowder? That one's a keeper.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

Great, yet another online "news" site that consists primarily of links to other sites. They appear to often link to stories in mynorthwest.com -- only those turn out to be links to original stories in the local papers.
The lead story: a poorly written rehash of the inauguration, based on what all of us saw on TV. Nothing local, nothing original.
Yet another aggregator? No thanks, it's been done.
rjh,
Thanks for your comments. While true, The Seattle Courant looks like yet another news aggregator, but that's not the intention.
As noted in Amy's post, I'm currently working on building out the editorial side of the business. From this point forward I will be publishing almost exclusively original reporting. Every once in a while, I may see the need to link to something, but I'll be producing my own news stories.
Just don't write me off too soon, I'm only just beginning.
Thanks,
Keith

Once we get to publishing daily, we'll start promoting this thing, but we're starting small and hoping to grow it organically.
