Stalk Of The Town

It's been a long time since Kim had a tourist to show around, so she's looking forward to giving her father a stellar tour of Seattle and its environs. On the agenda: Chateau Ste. Michelle, Bainbridge Island, the Fremont troll, and plenty of great food--finally an excuse to go to the Kingfish! Before pops arrives, she'll kick the weekend off right, with Sera Cahoone and Zoe Muth tonight at the Tractor.

Katelyn has been in crisis mode since last weekend's shooting at Chop Suey. This weekend, she'll be resting and recuperating with a rap (Chop Suey) and country (Tractor Tavern) double show night tonight, brunch with Seattlest Abbey at Oddfellows on Saturday, and a Lady Stuff vegan baking extravaganza at her house on Sunday.

MvB is reading as much of the Steven Johnson corpus as possible before interviewing him on Monday. If any hoped-for sunshine doesn't appear in time for an urban hike of some kind, he plans to embrace the lack of light by sleeping 12 to 13 hours a day.

Jay is attending a sneak preview of the season premiere of 24 tonight and then going to a New Year party tomorrow before getting ready to finally travel to his 50th state: Mississippi.

Pretty casual weekend ahead for Jack. Tonight he'll try not to drink too much since he's donating blood tomorrow morning. Saturday night he's meeting a long-lost cousin for dinner at The Jones, and Sunday he's hoping to combine two loves by journeying to Zippy's Giant Burgers in West Seattle.

NOW! The only thing that matters to Audrey this weekend is watching the two-night, four-hour season premiere of 24. BOOP BEEP BOOP BEEP.

Maia is getting back in the swing of all things theatre in '09 with 14/48 tonight. Saturday boasts a marathon watching of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, don't judge. Sunday she'll end the weekend on a classier note with a matinee of The Pearl Fishers at Seattle Opera.

Abbey is trying to have a quieter weekend in preparation for her birthday week ahead of her. However, she'll still be making it out to the VERA Project tonight for a show benefiting local non-profit, the Bus Line Sleepers. Tonight's line-up includes The Lost Episode, The Whore Moans, and Thee Emergency. On Saturday she'll be brunching with Katelyn at Oddfellows before heading out to see Thee Emergency for a second night in a row at The High Dive, with Wild Orchid Children. On Sunday, it's more brunching with loved ones and a little house-tidying.

Jay- I am originally from Mississippi and I would be more than happy to give you a few places to check out! What city are you visiting?

Here's one tip- the only microbrew we have down there is Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan, and it's pretty good!

Thanks, Kel. I'll actually only be there (MS State area) for about 13 hours, but if you have a recommendation there, I'd love to know!

Ahhh, okay. 13 hours is probably plenty in Starkville. My boyfriend spent 5 years there and couldn't come up with anything to suggest, haha. If you like BBQ, Little Dooey's is good. Have fun! You're going to see a LOT of pickup trucks.
