No Country for Old Potheads: Rick Steves' Iran

We just got this email from KCTS inviting us to stop in next Saturday, January 10, for a 3 p.m. sneak preview screening and discussion with Rick Steves about his new travel special, Rick Steves' Iran: Yesterday and Today.

Why, yes, it's funny you asked: there is a Rick Steves' Iran website. There we learned that it's a one-hour special, and that if you watch it you'll "discover the splendid monuments of Iran's rich and glorious past, learn more about the 20th-century story of this perplexing nation, and experience Iranian life today in its historic capital and in a countryside village."

You're not gonna believe it, but it's free to the public. Seating is first-come, first served, in Seattle Center's Rainier Room. To RSVP, e-mail events (at) KCTS9.org. Ha! Now we can sit out the next KCTS pledge drive without guilt pang one.
