MvB can't decide if he's heading out early or late, but at some point he'll be at Uber Tavern drinking an assortment of "very rare" beers and snacking on Swedish meatballs.
Combining the best of both quiet and rowdy worlds, Katelyn will be starting her evening at a friend's place in Pioneer Square for a shindig involving Katelyn's famous red velvet cake, then heading over to the Paramount for Monotonix, the Saturday Knights, and PUSA. When the clock strikes midnight, she'll resolve to wear more orange next year. Bring it on, '09. She's ready for you.
Still in Asia for a few more days, Jay will stare out his Tokyo Hilton window watching Mt. Fuji disappear into the sunset, and then enjoy a fine dinner at the hotel's new French restaurant. After a few more days of binge eating, he will try to abide by a new year's resolution to control his diet more carefully, and exercise more!
After flying back into town from afar, Tom will be slipping into a vintage 1980's prom dress—think crinoline, lace, and ostentatious bows—and making a mask. Then it will be off to Capitol Hill for some friends' swanky masquerade party.
Amy will sneak in to her husband's office, which has an excellent view of the Space Needle fireworks. She'll make sure the champagne glasses are full and the keyboards are free of errant sequins.

In his young married days, Ronald would stay at home, "party" with neighbors, phone distant relatives, and happily hit the sack by 10. Different story now. Réveillon with the Italians at Sorrentino, a blast that ends with prosecco and cassata siciliana at midnight.
Kim will head to Hopvine tonight, where her pals Eric Miller and Eliza Jane Manoff are folking their way out of 2008. She'll even get up and sing a few tunes with Ms. Manoff for shits and giggles. And, of course, she'll spend a good amount of time on the phone wishing people a happy '09—first at 9 p.m. (midnight on the East Coast) and then again at midnight. After the calls, she'll resolve to spend the year ahead just enjoying what comes. 2009? More like 200FINE!
Abbey is debating which of three concerts to ring in 2009 with: Montonix with Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground at The Paramount, The Lonely H and The Magic Mirrors at Orbit Audio, or A Gun That Shoots Knives at The Blue Moon. Since '08 has been a tough year economically, she'll probably go with The Blue Moon since it's free. And, for sentimental sake, since the first time she saw AGTSK was on NYE 2006.
Audrey will be celebrating NYE by taking in her favorite local band/all-around great group of smartypants "Awesome" at the Rendezvous. In 2009, she resolves to meet Mr. Chi-City, marry Paul Rudd, and convince Silvie to finally get a cat.
