City To Use Salt Under Some Circumstances

Sounds like the city is listening, after all. At a press conference this afternoon, Nickels announced changes to the official no-salt policy: in some, limited circumstances, salt will be used on the streets of Seattle to make life easier in the snow. We thought this day would never come. In addition, the city is looking into giving rebates to residents whose trash pick-up was skipped two weeks in a row. When more information is available, we'll post it!

Meanwhile, Richard Conlin continues his push towards the mayor's office. His monthly email to constituents focused on the whole snow-response issue.

It did, however, include this line -

The Council cannot undue the difficulties the last few weeks have brought,..

In fairness to Conlin, when I email him about rather poor spelling, he responded to me in less than a minute. Of course, blaming the spell-checker, but still.

Ha! Okay, I have to blame the spell-checker myself.
