And just because you can cite one weekend doesn't mean we're living in Thunderdome... I recognize there's violence out there, but taking media reports like this at face value is just as ridiculous as denying there's any problem.

At what point would you admit it's as bad as the "activists" think? Did we not have 11 shootings in one weekend recently? That's bad for LA much less little Seattle. Just because you have a cozy image of latte land doesn't meen things aren't deteriorating in a hurry.

Wow... Kids have a cavalier attitude toward violence and danger. Amazing... I LOVE how we can all bend facts to suit our beliefs (but LOVE calling out others for doing the same thing). "It's a race issue" "It's a gang issue" "It's a socioeconomic issue" (surprised someone didn't take the "Ban Guns" in these articles...) At the end of the day, I conclude this: It's not as bad as some activists would have you believe, but there are notable incidents that occur (like Southcenter and Garfield, recently) and it is not something we can turn a blind eye to.

According to MSNBC the murder rate has risen 80% this year! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28302542/ The city leaders figure this repuation doesn't coincide with their image of Seattle so they ignore it.
